Burlingame

Originally settled by wealthy San Franciscans looking for more space and a nicer climate, Burlingame has evolved into a charming city known for affluent residents, incredible homes and a vast expanse of natural beauty. With over 18,000 trees that are owned, protected and maintained by the city, Burlingame is also known as the “City of Trees”.

Stunning examples of original Victorian architecture can be seen all throughout the city, as well as many buildings reflecting Spanish influence. Burlingame is a progressive city that has recently adopted a “think green” policy. Striving to reduce carbon emissions, water consumption, and energy usage, this city has created everything from bicycle transportation plans to recycling events.

The Burlingame Trolley provides free transportation to the most popular shopping and dining districts and Airport hotels, while Caltrain provides a great method of transport to neighboring cities like San Francisco and Palo Alto.  From the Burlingame station, there is limited stop service during peak hours that will get riders to San Francisco's 4th and King station in just over 20 minutes.  Weekend service to Burlingame's Broadway station provides an alternative option for residents that live closer to the Broadway district.

For those looking for excellent public schools, Burlingame features some of the best in the state with test scores regularly above nearby cities.  Burlingame is also home to three private schools: Mercy High School (a Catholic all-girls high school), Our Lady of Angels School, and St. Catherine of Siena School.  The city also features one of the most iconic public libraries in the region.

The City of Burlingame shares the 94010 with nearby Hillsborough and features a combination of single family homes, condos, and townhomes in the region. There is also a higher concentration of apartment buildings and other multi-family properties closer to the central business district areas. Below is the sales history for the city.
