Santa Cruz Search and Rescue

When something goes terribly wrong, when someone is missing or injured, Santa Cruz is protected by a dedicated group of volunteers. They are the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s office Search and Rescue team (SAR), and are an elite group of human and animal volunteers and a handful of paid staff.

In good weather and bad, day or night, these dedicated highly trained individuals step out of their own lives to save another.

Since the volunteers pay for their own training, travel and equipment, Sereno Group has committed to raise funds for a Swift Water Rescue Program. Should Santa Cruz experience a heavy winter, the rivers we have may swell and there will be a need for trained volunteers and the appropriate equipment to save lives.
